Introduction

Project teams often have to manage multiple events besides the scheduled activities and actions themselves. these may be workshops, public holidays, staff meetings or other occassions.

Events Dashboard is the place to record and manage these events.

Accessing Events

A counter of Events is on the Project Home. Clicking the counter navigates to the Events Dashboard.

Navigation

Events are also accessible from the left-hand side navigation bar...

Schedules & Events

This page has three tabs allowing a user to toggle between Activities, Events and Calendar

The Events Dashboard

The Events Dashboard provides a table of all events related to the project - past, present and future.

Viewing/Managing an Event

Select any event to enter the editor...

Selecting an event opens a form which can be updated...

These form fields are...

  • Status. HORIZON PPM provides the following options to track the overall status of an event ...
    • Open
    • On Hold
    • Closed

Note: All new events have a default status of Open.

  • EventThe title of the event.
  • Start Date. The date the event is scheduled to start. This date can be in the past, present or future.
  • End Date. The date the event is scheduled to end. This date can be in the past, present or future.
  • Non Working Day. This is a checkbox that can be toggled to set or not set. When set the calculations of total and remaining working days will include this where the location of the logged in user (set in their profile) matches a location selected below in the NWD Locations field.
  • NWD Locations. NWD Locations (or Non Working Day Locations) are chosen for locations associated with the event. For example if define a public holiday in the UK the user would select the location of United Kingdom. This mean that users that have their own location also set to United Kingdom would have the days between the start and end dates subtracted from the total working dayas and remaining days calcuations.
  • Comments. Comments relating to the event. This may include specific timings, locations ro other details.
  • Tags. An optional field to add tags to an event. To add a tag type the word or words and press the return key (this may be a go button or similar in the virtual keyboard on a mobile device). The system then highlights the new tag in blue but doesn't submit the form allowing additional tags to be added.

Note: Tags are a powerful feature allowing easy identification and access to common items across the projects and portfolios. See the Tag Search page for more details.

  • Last Updated. An automatically updated field displaying the last date/time this event was updated

Adding a new Event

To add a new event select the Add button at the top right of the table.

Adding a new event opens the same form as described in Viewing/Managing an Event. See above for details.
